Summer of Fun 2012 - Mother's Day

Since we started our summer at the beginning of May that means that Mother's Day was part of our Summer of Fun 2012.  It was a great weekend.  As the mom who benefited from this extravaganza I had a wonderful day and enjoyed my peeps immensely.

On Saturday, Beanie and I attended a Mother's Day Tea with Grandma Jackie.  She sponsored a table and we were able to sit with her and enjoy some girl time together.  It was beautiful and fun (my two favorite things - besides chocolate, which was also included!)

Sunday, I awoke to some pretty stellar cards and gifts.  I got a new bird bath for my garden, which I really wanted, and some delicious candles that hang on a string.  The best part is that the candle tray holds all the unused candles underneath it.  Super cool!  I also got some beautiful butterflies made by hand by my Weejuns.  So cute.

The best part of the day, by far, happened at church.  The Weejuns came into the main service and they all read a statement about why they loved their  moms.  Beanie's tribute to me was amazing and I cried like a baby.  (K2 chickened out, but I still felt the love.)

Beanie said, "I love my mom because she is there for me, she is amazing and she brings me to church."  Waaaaaaaaaaaa!

After church we dove home (all 3 blocks) and then headed for the hill.  It was a stellar day and we couldn't pass up the sunshine and the snow.  A wonderful time was had by all!

On the way down from the mountain we decided to hit one of our favorite restaurants, Pastini, for a little apres ski.  I was treated to my favorite pasta dish (gluten free, of course) of fresh asparagus, lemon creme sauce and roasted pistachios.  Oh, heaven!

My day was topped off with FREE Cuppa Yo - my favorite frozen yogurt joint and a special surprise from Beanie - a new bracelet that she bought for me herself at an art booth at Spring Fest.  I love it!!  Don't you?

So, as you can see, it was a most spectacular day.  One of the best I've ever had, hand's down, and super fun.  I laughed, I cried, I was active, I ate well, I was blessed, I was surrounded by those I love.  It was amazing and I am so grateful for my beautiful family and the blessings they bestow on me each and every day.  Thank you Weejuns, I love you!
